Why I built SimpleSnip

I just needed to crop a screenshot, cut a subject out of a photo, or put some text on an image. Every editor I tried wanted a monthly subscription, made me create an account, or uploaded my photos to a server I had no control over. So I built SimpleSnip: a layer-based photo editor that runs in your browser, is free, and never sends your images anywhere.

There is no paywall, no sign-up and no upload. Open an image and start editing.

SimpleSnip brings Photoshop-style essentials, including layers, magic-wand and lasso selections, masking, brush and eraser, free transform, filters and text, into your browser for free. It is not meant to replace every professional or print feature of Photoshop, but it covers what most people need.

Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?

No. Every edit runs locally in your browser on the HTML canvas, so your images never leave your device and nothing is sent to a server. It is a privacy-first photo editor.
