How to Open an Image Online

Learn how to open an image in SimpleSnip by dragging and dropping, browsing, pasting, or loading from a URL, all in your browser.

  1. Open simplesnip.com

The start screen has three tabs: Open image, Templates, and Custom size.

  2. Drop in a photo

Drag an image file onto the drop zone, or click Browse files to pick one from your device. PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, and PSD files all work. A PSD's layers come in ready to edit.

  3. Or paste or link one

Already copied an image? Click Paste image, or just press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac) anywhere on the start screen. Have a URL instead? Click From URL and paste the link.

  4. No photo yet? Start blank

Switch to the Templates tab for a quick sample photo or a ready-made blank canvas (Instagram Post, YouTube Thumbnail, and more), or use Custom size to set an exact width and height in pixels.

  5. Start editing

Your image opens straight into the editor. Nothing is uploaded anywhere: every pixel stays on your device and is processed locally in your browser.

💡 Tip: Pasting works from anywhere on the start screen. You don't need to click into a specific box first.
