How to Adjust Hue and Saturation

Learn how to adjust hue, saturation, and lightness on a layer with SimpleSnip, for all colors or just one.

  1. Select a pixel layer

Hue/Saturation adjusts one layer at a time. Click the layer you want in the Layers panel; the locked Background layer can't be adjusted.

  2. Open Hue / Saturation

Open the Filter menu and click Hue / Saturation…. It opens as a floating window on desktop, or docks above the toolbar on a phone.

  3. Adjust every color, or just one

Switch between All colors and Target color. Target color picks a swatch and a Range so only pixels near that hue are affected, useful for changing just one color in a photo without touching the rest.

  4. Move the sliders

Drag Hue, Saturation, or Lightness to preview the change live. Double-click a slider to reset it back to 0.

  5. Apply or reset

Click Apply to bake the adjustment into the layer's pixels, or Reset to discard it and start over.

💡 Tip: Switching to a different layer while an adjustment is unapplied discards it automatically, so click Apply first if you want to keep it.
