How to Undo and Redo Edits

Learn how undo, redo, and history work in SimpleSnip while you edit.

  1. Undo a change

Press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac), or click the undo arrow at the top of the editor.

  2. Redo it

Press Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z, or click the redo arrow next to it.

  3. Know your history depth

SimpleSnip keeps the last 30 steps, so you can undo back through most of a session, not just the last action.

  4. Nudges collapse together

Arrow-key nudges count as one undo step per run: keep tapping the arrows and a single Ctrl+Z undoes the whole sequence, not one pixel at a time.

  5. Undo works everywhere

It works from any tool, panel, or menu, so you never need to switch back to a specific tool just to undo a mistake.

💡 Tip: Undo and redo both clear once you make a new edit after undoing, exactly like in a desktop editor, so redo is only available right after an undo.
